This course is aimed at individuals or groups who have a minimal understanding about dementia. Whether you come from a healthcare background or are a member of the public, this course will give you an overview of:

  • The main types of dementia and their causes.

  • How is dementia diagnosed?

  • Symptoms of dementia

  • Behaviours and their management

  • Person-centred care

  • Mental Capacity Act and the Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards

    This course will equip learners with the knowledge to appropriately support a dementia sufferer.
  • Mental Health Awareness
    This course aims to increase the learners’ awareness of mental health to ensure they are equipped to deal appropriately with the needs of colleagues, family members or service-users who may be experiencing mental health issues.
  • Positive Behaviour Management – New to Care
    This course is split into two sections, the first part involves group discussion, trainer presentation, interactive discussions and scenarios. Followed by a practical-based element for the second section.
