First Aid at Work
3 Day Course Theory & Practical
Completing this course will ensure learners acquire the skills to manage a wide range of emergency situations that require first aid. As well as providing the practical skills and knowledge needed to calmly and efficiently carry out emergency care, it also focuses on encouraging a learner’s confidence to deliver what they are being taught.
The course content is in line with that specified by the Health & Safety Executive (HSE). It also follows The Resuscitation Council (UK) guidelines.
Upon successful completion of the course, learners will receive:
A certificate in First Aid at Work which is valid for 3 years
A training pack including information to assist candidates during the program and as a reference guide

How to manage an emergency situation
Casualty assessment and monitoring
Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
The Recovery Position
Cause of unconsciousness
Bleeding and shock management
Burns and scalds
Cone, muscle, joint and spinal injuries
Severe allergic reactions
Seizure management (adult)
HSE Health & Safety Regulations
The Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH)
This course is split into two sections, the first part involves group discussion, trainer presentation, interactive discussions and scenarios. Followed by a practical-based element for the second section.
