Theory & Practical

Completing this course will ensure learners acquire the skills to manage a wide range of emergency situations that require first aid. As well as providing the practical skills and knowledge needed to calmly and efficiently carry out emergency care, it also focuses on encouraging a learner’s confidence to deliver what they are being taught. 

The course content is in line with that specified by the Health & Safety Executive (HSE). It also follows The Resuscitation Council (UK) guidelines. 

Upon successful completion of the course, learners will receive: 

  • A certificate in First Aid at Work which is valid for 3 years
  • A training pack including information to assist candidates during the program and as a reference guide

  • Severe allergic reactions
  • Seizure management (adult)
  • HSE Health & Safety Regulations
  • The Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH)
  • Accident reporting (including RIDDOR)


  • Record-Keeping & Incident Reporting
    This inciteful half-day course covers a range of subjects relating to the proper processes for Record-Keeping and Incident Reporting.
  • Emergency First Aid at Work
    This course enables staff to provide emergency first aid within small, low risk work settings. We focus on giving candidates the confidence to deal with common injuries and illnesses.
  • Basic Life Support and the Use of Automated External Defibrillators (AED)
    This is an ideal course for anyone who has no prior experience in providing this support. We aim to provide not only the skills to deal with an emergency situation, but also the confidence.
  • Positive Behaviour Management - Refresher
    This course is split into two sections, the first part involves group discussion, trainer presentation, interactive discussions and scenarios. Followed by a practical-based element for the second section.
  • Moving & Handling of People
    Working within health and social care often involves moving, lifting, pushing and pulling people. Our training highlights the risks of moving and handling.
  • Mental Capacity & the Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS)
    This course offers the practical knowledge and skills to appropriately support those with varying levels of diminished mental capacity.
